Set entirely in the toilets of a university café, Liquid Soap will reveal the hilarious world of gripping micro-dramas that are played out daily in this intimate location.

Liquid Soap is a broadcast standard in-house TV comedy soap set entirely in the toilets of a university café. The production is professionally managed but is written, directed and performed by students and staff at Bath Spa University for broadcasting over the internet.

The Artswork Media webcasting project, led by Eastenders Producer/Director Chris Jury and Touch Films Producer Nic Jeune, is being launched on Wednesday 29th April with a comedy event in the toilets of Bath Spa's canteen that will be webcast live to screens across the campus and on the internet.

The project aims to provide an ongoing professional production environment for all Bath Spa students but especially our Screenwriting, Performing Arts, Design and Broadcast Media students.

The series will initially be webcast in 5 minute episodes but the scripts are being developed so that 5 episodes can also be broadcast as a single 25 minute episode.

Going forward it is intended to write & produce at least 10 more 5 minute episodes over the academic year 2009/10 and to then produce at least 15 x 5 minute episodes a year for the next 5 years.

The first shoot, set for Monday 22nd – Friday 26th of June 2009, will record one 5 minute episode a day for 5 days in the University Theatre on a standing set and overseen by a professional Producer, Lighting Cameraman and Sound Recordist.

The set, also built by students, will then be dismantled and stored until Spring 2010 when the next shoot is scheduled.
